Individual and Couples Therapy in Utah

Therapy in Utah & North Carolina

Helping individuals and couples rebuild connection, reclaim confidence, and transform challenges into opportunities for growth.

YOU’VE TRIED EVERYTHING TO TURN THINGS AROUND, BUT NOTHING SEEMS TO WORK.

My mission is to guide you toward a life filled with purpose, connection, and emotional resilience.

Here is how therapy with me is different.

Our therapeutic collaboration is the springboard you need to break free from the old patterns and habits that are holding you back.

A Focus on Transforming Interpersonal Struggles

Our relationships — with partners, family, friends, and colleagues — profoundly shape our lives. When these connections become sources of conflict rather than support, the impact on our well-being can be significant. Many people seek my services when they find themselves faced with relationship challenges, feeling stuck in cycles of misunderstanding and disconnection.

If you're struggling with how to deal with conflict in a relationship, navigating interpersonal conflict at work, or addressing common areas of conflict for families, you're not alone. These struggles can leave you feeling overwhelmed, affecting your mental health and overall quality of life.

In our therapy sessions, we'll explore the nuances of your relationships, identifying patterns that contribute to conflicts. You'll develop effective communication strategies, learn to manage emotions in challenging situations, and set boundaries in a way that’s both effective and healthy. We'll address both personal and professional relationships, recognizing that workplace interpersonal conflict often intertwines with our personal lives.

Through our work together, you'll gain tools to transform conflicts into opportunities for growth and deeper connection. Imagine moving from tension to understanding, from painful arguments to constructive dialogues. Whether you're dealing with a difficult co-worker, struggling with family dynamics, or working to improve your romantic partnership, we'll work towards building more fulfilling, harmonious relationships across all areas of your life.

Evidence-Based Care

My approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and the Gottman Method for couples. This ensures that our work together is grounded in proven techniques that not only address immediate concerns but also foster long-term, meaningful change in your life and relationships.

Empathy and Support for Life's Toughest Challenges

I offer more than just therapy—I provide a supportive space where you can explore your emotions and experiences without judgment. My goal is to help you find clarity and strength during life’s toughest challenges, whether you're dealing with relationship issues, divorce, or personal growth.

Specialized Expertise in High-Conflict Divorce

As a therapist with extensive experience in high-conflict divorce and AFCC-Informed interventions, I understand the complexities of court-involved cases. My work is tailored to help your family navigate these challenges as effectively as possible, and in a manner that centers the mental health of you and your children. My services for high-conflict divorce include co-parenting therapy, an intervention designed to reduce conflict and foster a healthier environment for your children. Additionally, I provide court-appointed services such as Parenting Coordination (in North Carolina( and Special Master services (in Utah), which can be highly effective in lowering conflict between co-parents.

Experience Matters

I have over 25 years of experience providing therapy in a wide variety of clinical settings, including public mental health, elementary school and university counseling centers, and child protection. I’ve also maintained a solo private practice since 2003. In other words, I’ve seen a lot of problems in a lot of situations, and I’m confident that I can support you through what you’re facing.

Some Other Things to Know About Working with Me in Therapy…

We’ll use a lot of humor in therapy! Don’t get me wrong, we’ll be leaning into some challenging emotions and difficult issues. But I believe strongly in the therapeutic value of humor, and find it helps my clients stay engaged in the process.

Also… you can use adult language here! We’re all grown-ups, and I am virtually un-offendable. I want you to express yourself in the way that’s most natural to you!
